The main cause of divorce is the disagreement between the two parties. This disagreement is fueled by several reasons, ranging from banal to more serious ones.

This is one of the most well-known causes of divorce in the world. The complexity of human nature often leads them to act completely irresponsible towards their fellow man. Infidelity is the maintenance of a relationship outside of marriage. This act can have several reasons, the lack of affection, curiosity, or even sentimental instability for others.

Then, the judge will proceed to deliberation before pronouncing the sentence. This final decision mentions the conditions related to the divorce, such as the division of property and the custody of the children.

The consequences of divorce

In addition to the separation, the divorce has financial and moral consequences.

The division of property

At the end of the trial, the judge defines the terms of the separation and establishes the manner in which the couple’s joint property will be divided. A notary is then charged with estimating the value of all the property acquired during the marriage and is responsible for distributing it in an equitable manner. However, both parties can take care of the division themselves if the divorce is amicable.

Custody of the children

In a divorce, the judge often opts for alternating custody. This means that the children live part of the time with their mother and the other part with their father. However, there are cases where sole custody is awarded to one of the parents.

Sole custody can occur depending on the situation. It can also result from the will of the child; if the child has a preference for his father or mother, he will be entrusted to him following a hearing with the family court judge. Indeed, if one of the parents is unable to take care of the children, they are entrusted permanently to the other parent.

The moral consequences

Whatever the reasons and nature of the separation, it is always a difficult ordeal. Lack and loneliness quickly set in, which can lead to depression or malaise. And the worst thing is that parents are not the only ones to suffer the consequences of divorce. Children are the main victims.

Between the instability linked to the alternation of residence, they can feel a lack of affection. The trauma can cause personality alteration and sentimental problems in them. Children from broken homes will, in turn, find it challenging to invest in a relationship for fear of reliving the same story as their parents.
